Requesting Police Reports 

Police reports and other paper records are provided in accordance with departmental, state, and federal guidelines. Certain records, or portions of records, may be withheld or redacted as required by applicable laws and regulations.

Police report copies are available for a fee of $5 for the first ten pages. Reports exceeding ten pages may require additional fees based on the number of pages and the time required to retrieve, review, and prepare the records for release.

Payment must be made by exact cash, check, or money order. Debit and credit card payments are accepted; however, an additional processing fee will be applied to each transaction.

Requesting Crash Reports:

The KU Police Department offers online crash report purchasing through BuyCrash. Crash reports may be purchased by searching using one of the following options:

  • Report Number
  • Last Name and Date of Incident
  • Last Name and Street Location
