Records Request

Police reports and other paper records are disseminated within departmental, state and federal guidelines. Report copies cost $0.25 per page, with more extensive reports having a retrieval fee charged by the hour. Payment must be made by exact cash, check or money order. Debit and credit cards are accepted, but there is a an additional processing fee per transaction.

On January 19, 2026, the KU Police Department will be implementing a new charge for report copies. Reports will cost $5 for the first ten pages with more extensive reports having a fee based on the number of pages and the time needed to produce them.
